About Nessie’s Nippers

All our policies and procedures are available if you decide you want your child with Nessie’s Nippers. This will all be gone through in detail in our first meeting with each other, We will then require a signature to confirm that you have read and understood our policies.

As a child minder we have ratios which we have to abide by. These are the ratios per person. We also have planning permission for up to 12 children.

  • maximum of six children under the age of 8; of these six children, a maximum of three may be young children, (a child is defined as a “young child” up until 1st September following his/her 5th birthday).
  • No more than one child may be under the age of 1.

SEN

At Nessies Nippers we do everything we can do help a child with any extra additional needs. We help to put things in place to allow them to grow as individuals. It may be something simple or something more complex, either way we can do everything we can and work with you to help them achieve their best.

If for some reason your child needs or is on a my plan then we are happy to continue with the my plans and take part in the reviews.

We are also trained in SEN, and therefore can help with paperwork and progression if needed.

Your Child’s Routine:-

Your child’s routine is very important and I can completely understand this. When we have an initial meeting this will be discussed, We have sufficient facilities available to cater for all routines and we will do our best to continue to help.

Introducing A Child:-

When introducing a child into our setting, ideally the first stay would be a shorter visit so they can get used to the environment, and to get to know any other children they may be around. As a parent myself I know that this decision can be a very daunting one and therefore want to make it as easy as possible for you and your child.

We have our online software which has proved to work amazingly with all our families! The feedback we have had has been amazing. You have your own login to interact and still feel fully involved with your childs day!

WHAT DO WE USE IT FOR? Mainly…..

  • Online photos
  • Attendence, times in and out
  • Learning targets and their progress journey
  • Our contracts/policies etc

Daily note around lunchtime which updates everything we have done on the morning!

The child will also have the option of a small notebook which will be sent home daily which I will also expect back the following day, again depending on your preferences.
